Ribbons & Roses
The Ribbons and Roses Luncheon is our signature fundraising event. Its purpose is to celebrate, honor and remember those who have worn the Pink Ribbon and the family members, friends and care providers who have helped them through their struggle with breast cancer.
In addition to the luncheon, there will be a presentation of the Breast Cancer Companion award, a silent auction, and a trunk show of the exotic Kazuri Beads that are made in Africa and whose proceeds go to Project Woman Coalition.
We will be hosting our event at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club on Thursday, October 18th, 2007 11:00am - 1:00pm, with the doors opening at 10:30am for the Silent Auction viewing.
Our keynote speaker this year will be Susan Blumenthal M.D., champion for improving global-health. Having served as U.S. Assistant Surgeon General, Rear Admiral, Sr. Medical and E-Advisor in the U.S. Department of Health and Human World, she spearheaded a collaboration with the CIA, NASA and the Department of Defense called “From Missiles to Mammograms”. This program proved useful in transferring imaging technology used for military and space to improve early detection of breast cancer.
